Embedded Software Developer

Hamilton Central Europe is located in Timisoara, Romania and develops and produces microliter syringes, needles, dosing pumps, pipetting modules and accessories for analytical and research laboratories, as well as accessories for medical devices used in intensive care units. In addition, we provide financial accounting services for the Hamilton companies.
Job Description:
- Design, develop, analyze, and debug firmware for both new projects and existing Hamilton products.
- Maintain and enhance firmware for existing products based on customer requests.
- Solve firmware issues in products under series production.
- Write and execute unit, integration, and system tests.
- Measure firmware performance and ensure product readiness for market release.
- Prepare and present detailed test reports on integrated firmware.
- Collaborate with hardware teams to define system-level designs.
- Contribute to architecture discussions and code reviews.
- Develop and maintain user documentation and product manuals.
- Implement and maintain Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines.
- Provide mentoring to junior developers.
Professional experience & skills desired to have:
- Technical University degree.
- Good English skills.
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in embedded real-time control systems.
- Passionate about programming and eager to mentor junior developers.
- Proficient in developing embedded systems using ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers (nice to have XMC Infineon knowledge).
- Strong knowledge of C programming and object-oriented design (OOP).
- Experience with standard development tools (revision control, issue tracking, profilers, debuggers).
- Experience with build systems and integrated development environments such as Keil uVision or similar.
- Experience with RTOS (RTX or similar).
- Experience in implementing test suites (unit, integration, system testing).
- Knowledge of coding standards and code analysis (static analysis, cyclomatic complexity).
- Familiarity with best coding practices (e.g., SOLID principles).
- Proven ability to understand software specifications and design detailed embedded software solutions.
- Knowledge of design patterns.
- Capable of contributing to architecture and design discussions.
- Excellent communication skills and documentation abilities.
- Proficiency in Python for automating tasks, testing, or utilities.

- Example projects
- Experience in working with stepper motor drivers.
- Experience in working with embedded displays.
- Experience with high-level application development (desktop, mobile, web).
