Intern (6 Months) Control System Testbench Development 80 – 100 % (f/m/d)

True to the vision “We drive innovation to improve people’s lives”, the Hamilton companies have been providing solutions for the health sector since 1950. We are an innovative pioneer in the fields of ventilators, automated pipetting, sample management and in the development of process sensors.
Hamilton Medical is a leading manufacturer of intelligent ventilators. Whether in ICUs, during emergency rescue transport or an MRI scan – our solutions cover a multitude of patient groups, applications and environments.
How you can make a difference:
As an intern in our team, you’ll be part of an interdisciplinary research and development team working on the mechanical ventilation challenges of tomorrow. You’ll work closely with our experts on further developing an in silico and a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testbench that will be used to evaluate and test various physiological closed-loop control systems.
In your key responsibilities, you will analyze clinical data and apply it to test advanced control techniques for mechanical ventilation. You will also play an important role in extending the capabilities of our existing testbenches by programming new simulation features, allowing us to evaluate new control techniques more effectively before moving to clinical studies. In collaboration with our medical experts and engineers, you’ll also be responsible for designing, implementing, and automating various test scenarios.
This internship contains the following main tasks:
-
Analyzing, improving, and validating aspects of control techniques based on clinical data
-
Improve the capabilities of our testbenches by adding new patient model scenarios derived from clinical data
-
Designing, programming, and running automated test protocols
-
MATLAB and Simulink programming
That’s what you bring along:
To fulfil these tasks, the candidate should hold a BSc degree (or equivalent, e.g. Master’s student) in a STEM degree (e.g. Mechanical or Electrical engineering, Computer Science) and the following qualifications:
-
Experience in MATLAB programming
-
Good problem-solving skills
-
Fluent in German and/or English
-
Experience in Simulink is an advantage
-
Experience in control systems is an advantage
Timeframe:
