A string of handovers is taking place at Hamilton
Media release 05.09.2022Now that long-serving CEO Andreas Wieland has passed on the baton to Martin Frey (CEO of Hamilton Bonaduz AG since 2022) and Jens Hallek (CEO of Hamilton Medical AG since 2018), some further key positions at Hamilton are now undergoing a generational change.
Several management positions at the Graubünden-based Hamilton company are currently either occupied, or are are about to be occupied, by new people. In all but one case, it was possible to award these positions to long-serving members of staff. This ensures continuity, which is particularly important in view of the fact that there are a string of handovers currently taking place.
Martin Frey, CEO Hamilton Bonaduz AG / Jens Hallek, CEO Hamilton Medical AG
Following on from Jens Hallek’s appointment as CEO of Hamilton Medical AG in 2018, this year saw Andreas Wieland pass the baton definitively on to his successors with the promotion of Martin Frey to CEO of Hamilton Bonaduz AG. Andreas Wieland will be continuing to provide his experience and knowledge to the Board of Directors at the strategic level. Under the leadership of Andreas Wieland, the Hamilton companies succeeded in becoming global market leaders in many of their active business areas thanks to their focus on innovate strength. As a last operational act, Andreas Wieland successfully guided the companies through the current Covid pandemic.
Gianina Viglino-Caviezel, Managing Director Hamilton Services AG
Another long-serving member of the management team, Roger Lang, Managing Director of Hamilton Services AG, is also retiring. Originally from Ems, he has been working for Hamilton in various roles since the 1980s and has thus played a significant role in driving the company’s growth during the past few decades. For example, he managed the HR department and the finance department before assuming the management of the Shared Services business unit in 2002, which, as of this year, is now run as Hamilton Services AG. Hamilton Services AG is responsible for providing services such as HR, finance, ICT, facility management and logistics internally within the Hamilton companies. In Gianina Viglino-Caviezel, the executive management of Hamilton Services AG is passing to a young manager. Prior to her appointment, Gianina had served, inter alia, as HR manager at Hamilton. Originally from the canton of Graubünden, she assumed her new role on September 1. As of this year, Roger Lang has been helping her to prepare for her new duties and he will continue to be available to provide support until the year’s end.
Philipp Arquint, Vice President Process Analytics
Within Hamilton Bonaduz AG, long-serving employee, Philipp Arquint, has been appointed as Vice President for the Process Analytics business unit. Philipp joined the company over 20 years ago, on January 1, 2000, as a developer in what was then a recently formed Process Analytics business unit. He went on to become Head of Innovation, before being promoted to Director of Innovation and now, as of June 2022, he holds the position of Vice President. Thanks, inter alia, to his spirit for innovation and development, Hamilton is regarded as one of the most innovative companies in the area of process sensors and, during the past few years, it has risen to claim number 2 position in terms of market share. A significant contribution to this success was made by his predecessor as president, Clara Caminada, who, following 14 extremely successful and meritorious years working at Hamilton, has decided to seek out a new challenge.
Dieter Neuschütz, Vice President Hamilton Storage GmbH / Patrik Caluori, Vice President Product
Innovation and Development Hamilton Medical AG
Since March 2022, Hamilton Storage GmbH has also had a new Vice President. In the person of Dieter Neuschütz, this producer of automated sample management systems – which is owned by Hamilton Bonaduz AG for operational purposes – is getting an experienced all-rounder. The German-Swiss dual national is a mechanical engineering graduate with experience in sales and marketing, key account management and business management. While Dieter Neuschütz is new to Hamilton, the specialist knowledge and experience he brings with him means that he has precisely the right attributes to lead Hamilton Storage GmbH successfully into the future. His predecessor, Patrik Caluori, is switching positions within the Hamilton companies to join Hamilton Medical AG, where he has already taken up his post as Vice President Product Innovation and Development. In turn, this position was previously held by Urs Reidt, who will now be assisting the company as a consultant.
