Our Commitment to Dual Vocational Education in Romania
05.08.2025At Hamilton Central Europe, we firmly believe that the foundation for a successful future is laid through education. That’s why, since 2021, we have been actively committed to advancing dual vocational education in close collaboration with strong educational partners in Timișoara.

Fostering Future Careers Early
Our engagement began in partnership with two vocational high schools in Timișoara: Regele Ferdinand I Energetic Technological High School and Electrotimiș unserer ersten neun High School. Together, we offer students a solid education that meaningfully combines theory and practice.
Since 2021, we have been training young people in CNC turning (CNC = Computerized Numerical Control). In 2024, we expanded our program to include training for electromechanics specializing in industrial equipment and machinery. The training program lasts three years and takes place under real working conditions with state-of-the-art equipment, guided by experienced mentors – dedicated professionals who share their expertise with passion.
To date, 24 trainees have completed our dual training program. In autumn 2025, six more students will join. We are particularly proud to have several dual education graduates employed in our team of mechanics.

Expanding our Commitment to Higher Education
We have also strengthened our involvement at the university level. In 2024, we became a member of the Western Regional Consortium for Dual Education – a strategic initiative that brings together businesses, educational institutions, and public authorities to promote and develop a strong, interconnected system for dual education.
A key achievement of this collaboration is the launch of the first dual specialization in robotics at the Faculty of Mechanics at the Politehnica University of Timișoara. This new program was developed with the support of four leading companies in the region, including Hamilton Central Europe.
Of the 30 students who began the program in 2024, seven are completing their lab work at our company, where they are mentored by highly qualified engineers from our team. We look forward to continuing this collaboration with a new cohort of students in autumn 2025.

Working Together for Strong Vocational Education Structures
Beyond this practical training, we are also committed to helping shape the organizational and policy framework for dual vocational education in Romania. We work closely with several institutions that share our vision for this forward-looking education model.
One of our key partners is the Swiss-Romanian Chamber of Commerce. Through its working group, the Chamber plays an active role in promoting dual education and contributing to the development of public education policy. It collaborates with Swiss companies involved in vocational training as well as with the Ministry of Education and educational institutions.
Together, we are dedicated to strengthening dual vocational education in Romania – focusing on quality, hands-on learning, and long-term career prospects for young talent.
