Job Description:
- Lead and manage a team of GL accountants, including hiring, training, mentoring, performance evaluation, and professional development.
- Oversee all general ledger accounting activities such as journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings for assigned subsidiaries, ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
- Review financial statements to ensure accuracy, compliance with local GAAP, and alignment with corporate policies.
- Ensure reconciliations are regularly reviewed, discrepancies resolved promptly, and procedures enhanced to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Coordinate closely with local finance teams, external auditors, tax consultants, and other stakeholders to maintain statutory compliance and streamline audit processes.
- Analyze financial data to identify risks, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement, proactively implementing solutions.
- Provide expert guidance and support during internal and external audits, ensuring all required documentation is available and accurate.
- Collaborate with internal departments, such as Finance, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Operations, to resolve accounting queries and optimize processes.
- Lead and participate in projects aimed at process improvement, ERP system enhancements, and accounting automation.
Professional experience & skills desired to have:
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in GL accounting, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior accountant role, preferably in an international environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of local and international GAAP (IFRS experience is highly advantageous).
- Extensive experience with ERP systems (Microsoft D365, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively liaising with multiple levels of management and cross-functional teams.
- Fluent English communication skills (written & spoken) are required; proficiency in German is an advantage.
